In 1999 Aroen started his career at KPMG Meijburg & Co in the Netherlands as a tax lawyer in the M&A practice. In 2005 Aroen became part of the international tax team. He is specialized in complex international tax matters triggered by cross-border transactions conducted by multinationals. His clients primarily include multinationals operating in various segments such as the energy, hotel & leisure, tech and automotive sector. Most of the multinationals have U.S. based HQ’s or have a strong link with the U.S. As from October 2014 Aroen joined KPMG’s International Steering Committee as the international tax representative of KPMG Meijburg & Co. As from January 2016 Aroen is the Head of the Netherlands Tax Center of KPMG Meijburg & Co in New York.

In 2016 Aroen has presented on various developments in the international tax area such as the EU Anti Tax Avoidance Package and the BEPS Actions items.
