Freerk has been working in the notarial practice for 20 years. He was appointed a civil-law notary in 2008 and gained experience working at Eversheds, Loyens & Loeff and De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.

Freerk describes himself as an extremely committed lawyer with broad experience in corporate law, which he is able to apply at the national and international level. As a civil-law notary, Freerk is part of the Rotterdam Corporate Law practice group.


Freerk has extensive experience with various aspects of corporate law. He is a civil-law notary who specializes in the incorporation of companies, cooperatives, partnerships and other legal entities under Dutch law. Freerk has considerable experience in providing assistance with (cross-border) mergers, the relocation of registered offices, transformations, split-ups and restructuring as well as the setting up of private equity structures. The use of instruments such as depositary receipts, shares with or without voting rights or employee share ownership plans are also part of his practice.

Freerk’s clients are Dutch and foreign large and medium-sized companies and private equity funds, as well as many family companies. He therefore has considerable experience with issues relevant to such companies. Freerk works closely with advisors from other disciplines, including accountants, tax advisors and corporate finance specialists.
