On May 8, 2019, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that a Latvian sailor − a Latvian citizen working for a Dutch employer on board a seagoing vessel sailing under a non-EU flag outside the territory of the European Union − is insured for social security purposes in his state of residence (Latvia). The judgment is important for every employer, but will also certainly have an impact within the Shipping & Offshore industry. Meijburg & Co is therefore organizing a roundtable on Friday, June 7, 2019, at our office in Rotterdam.

During the roundtable, Daida Hadzic, an international social security specialist and associated with the KPMG EU Tax Center, will elaborate on the implications of the judgment.

The roundtable is also an opportunity for you to meet a select group of participants from the sector with whom you can share your experiences and exchange information.

The roundtable is free-of-charge and will be in English but questions may be asked in Dutch.

Depending on the number of registrations, more sessions may be held.
