On Thursday July 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. KPMG Meijburg is hosting a webcast in which the latest developments regarding the Mandatory Disclosure Rules (MDR) will be discussed.
The MDR will enter into force from July 1, 2020. For intermediaries (such as tax advisors) and relevant taxpayers, this will mean that information on certain cross-border arrangements will have to be actively provided to tax authorities. Severe penalties for non-compliance appear to be the rule rather than the exception.
Not all EU Member States have yet transposed the DAC6 Directive into national law and many Member States are yet to publish detailed implementation guidelines. Postponement has been proposed at the EU level and, in the Netherlands, MDR Guidelines from the Dutch tax authorities are awaited.
Different expert perspectives
Our panel of Meijburg experts will share their insights on the latest EU developments, including recently adopted changes in the reporting deadlines and developments in various EU Member States. The guidance of the Dutch tax authorities - which is expected to be published before 1 July - will be addressed as well. Attention will also be paid to how taxpayers can ensure that they are ‘in control’ with respect to MDR, with the use of technology being an important aspect.
