CSR projects: corporate social responsibility

Moreover, we ensure that our activities have the least possible impact on the environment. Our business processes are therefore designed in a responsible manner. Please find some examples of our CSR projects below.

Make it Happen Fund

The first CSR project is the Make it Happen Fund. The aim of this foundation is to stimulate Meijburg & Co and KPMG employees to make an active contribution to society. Colleagues who participate in a social project without the prospect of any personal gain may access funding from the fund. In this way, together, we make the world a slightly better place.

Hermitage Amsterdam

Meijburg & Co collaborates intensively with the Hermitage Amsterdam. We contribute as a sponsor to the Hermitage’s unique programme for children, Hermitage voor Kinderen. This programme ensures that 10,000 Amsterdam primary school children enjoy an art experience each year. They learn to work together and to look at art with open hearts and minds. And what, you may ask, is the point of that? It helps the children to develop their creative abilities. It also stimulates them to think in terms of solutions. More information? Working like a Horse

Some time ago, Meijburg & Co partnered up with a local initiative from Rotterdam, called Stichting Werken als een Paard (the Working Like a Horse Foundation). This foundation contributes to resolving social issues. The focus is on children growing up in challenging areas, or who have difficult home lives. The message is: if you work like a horse, you can achieve a lot, regardless of your background. With the aid of numerous activities, the children can expand their horizons and figure out for themselves which role they wish to play in society. Click on the link below to find out more!

Going to the European Championships with the elderly

In 2019, the European Jumping, Dressage and Para-Dressage Championships take place in Rotterdam. In partnership with other institutions and the city of Rotterdam, CHIO Rotterdam is organising a side-event called ‘Op pad met ouderen’ (‘A day out with the elderly’).

Cooking stoves in Kenya and Uganda

Not only do we support CSR projects in the Netherlands, but internationally as well. Since January 2012, we have been supporting a project through which we have a direct impact in reducing CO2 emissions. Annually, we pay for around 4,000 wood-burning cooking stoves for families in Kenya and Uganda. More information? Click on the link below to find out more!
