Marco joined Meijburg in 2017, immediately becoming a member of the M&A team. Since then, Marco has gained wide experience with assisting (international) due diligence projects, international (re)structuring projects and other M&A-related activities (such as advising on share purchase agreements and other transactional documentation).
Besides his work for the transaction practice, Marco also advises (internationally operating) companies with regard to direct taxes and international tax law. In doing so, he has particular experience with assisting companies that are part of a ‘buy-and-build’ strategy and Italian companies active in the Netherlands (or vice versa).
In 2023 Marco worked in Italy, at KPMG in Milan, gaining much experience with setting up structures for Italian companies and investment in or via the Netherlands. Marco is also a member of Meijburg’s Italy Country Desk and the ‘Interest’ Knowledge Group, which is a subject-matter Knowledge Group within Meijburg focusing on tax issues related to interest deduction limitation measures.
Marco is pragmatic, efficient and has a hands-on mentality. In the dynamic playing field between M&A and normal advising, Marco keenly focuses on what is genuinely important for a client and knows how to translate complicated tax matters into understandable ‘to do’s’ from a business perspective.
