Wouter began his career at Meijburg in 2009 and since then has amassed more than 15 years of tax experience. He specializes in international tax law, corporate income tax and personal income tax, specifically focusing on Emerging Giants, family businesses and corporate clients.
His main activities include assisting Dutch companies with the tax aspects of international growth (in both new and existing markets) and structures, setting up management and employee incentive plans, helping businesses with individual international structures and emigration. He mainly advises privately-owned companies, start-ups, scale-ups and family businesses.
Wouter is a generalist in a specialized international playing field and is known for his ability to always put the company first. He has a keen eye for international structures and the broader tax aspects thereof, which means he is able to take a helicopter view of how things are managed.
Wouter is proud of his role in successfully assisting start-ups and scale-ups during funding rounds and with their international roll-out, both within the EU and in the US. He is also Managing Partner at the Rotterdam Office, Emerging Giants tax lead, and is frequently asked to speak at start-up and scale-up events.
