Going live with Central Electronic System of Payment Information (CESOP)

Tuesday,  January 30, 2024 | 14:00H

The European Union (EU) is in the process of launching the Central Electronic System of Payment information (“CESOP”) on 1 January 2024. The first reporting is due in April 2024.

CESOP is a key instrument to detect VAT fraud in the e-commerce market in the EU. Importantly, it imposes obligations on payment service providers (“PSPs”) to provide details of cross-border payments to CESOP, to allow tax authorities to detect potential VAT fraud. The rules are aimed at detecting both EU and non-EU sellers. The run up to CESOP has been challenging for both tax authorities and PSPs.

The webinar is pleased to discuss and highlight:

  • The latest guidance and Q&A on CESOP, which have just been released, right before the launch of CESOP;
  • Market insights on CESOP implementation;
  • CESOP tooling available to PSPs;
  • A country update on technical and legal implementation measures;
  • How to manage your CESOP risks.

The presenters in the session will include:

  • Jochum Zutt, Director, Indirect Tax, KPMG in the Netherlands
  • Natalia Nazim, Assistant Manager, Indirect Tax, KPMG in Luxembourg
  • Olga Larionova, Business Analyst, Regnology
