Meijburg and its sponsorship partner Unseen have been jointly awarding the Meijburg Art Commission annually since 2015.

For this year's Meijburg Art Commission artists from around the world have been invited to share their perspectives on the theme "Prosperity" - what do we need in today's world to flourish? What does it mean to truly thrive both as individuals and as a society, taking into account factors such as time for ourselves and each other, financial security, the environment, and culture?

From an overwhelming number of submissions, the shortlist of five nominated artists has now been announced:

  • Anna Fabricius - TOBE Gallery, Boedapest

  • Gilleam Trapenberg – Galerie Ron Mandos, Amsterdam

  • Klaas Kloosterboer - Ellen de Bruijne Projects, Amsterdam

  • Lee-Ann Olwage - The Bridge Gallery, Parijs

  • Melissa Schriek - Hama Gallery, Amsterdam

Soon, we will further highlight the work of these 5 nominees.

During the upcoming edition of Unseen Amsterdam (September 19-22) at the Westergasfabriek, the work of these five nominees will be presented in our own Meijburg Lounge at Unseen.

On Thursday, September 19, during the opening of Unseen, we will announce the winner of the Meijburg Art Commission 2024.
The winner of the Meijburg Art Commission will receive a cash prize, and the winning work will be included in our art collection.
