Players in the financial markets must continuously adapt to new developments and obligations to remain compliant with their current obligations. We provide advice on:

  • Bank tax
  • Leasing
  • Tax accounting under IFRS
  • Optimization of VAT position
  • Fiscal profit determination of branches
  • Determining 'tax risk appetite' in the context of fiscal client integrity
  • Supervisory legislation
  • Market access

  • Financing of banking institutions
Insurance

Insurance

Changing regulations from the regulator can impact insurers and their stakeholders. Tax rules are also complex and constantly evolving. We provide advice on:

  • (International) structuring of (re)insurance activities
  • Determining Loss Absorption Capacity Deferred Tax (LACDT)
  • Optimization of VAT position
  • Interconnection between the tax, IFRS, and Solvency II balance sheets
  • Tax aspects of the acquisition of insurers and (closed book) insurance portfolios
Investment

Investment & fund management

New developments and changing regulations (AIFMD, MiFID II, UCITS V, EMIR, Solvency II, CRD IV (Basel III), SEPA, and FATCA) not only lead to changes in business and revenue models but also to a changing perspective on what is still considered socially responsible in terms of taxation.

We specialize in leveraging tax opportunities and minimizing risks. We are eager to take on the challenge of increasing returns.

Pensioenen

Pensions

The Future of Pensions Act came into effect on July 1, 2023. The impact on employers is significant and also leads to new tax issues. Consider transition, compensation, leave, and RVU schemes, as well as questions regarding how pension funds and insurers determine the origin of premiums.

Many pension funds and executing organizations are forced by market developments to change their policies and leverage synergies. For example, we provide tax guidance in collective value transfers during mergers or liquidations. Additionally, we optimize investment structures (asset pooling, real estate, and private equity investments), where source taxes, other levies, and administrative burdens are minimized.

We work closely with our colleagues at KPMG.
