Aldo is a highly experienced tax lawyer who has provided tax services to a multitude of clients over the past 30 years. His main area of focus is international corporate income tax. As an attorney-at-law, he assists clients who have a dispute with the tax authorities, both in and outside the Netherlands. Aldo specializes in resolving complex tax issues, offering both subject matter expertise and ethical, tactical and strategic input. Aldo is also Head Global Tax Dispute Resolution & Controversy Services.

Rian has worked in the tax advisory practice of KPMG Meijburg & Co for more than 12 years. Her focus is on corporate clients. She has been admitted to the Dutch Bar and assists clients that have disputes with the tax authorities, from the first letter of questions to legal proceedings. She specializes in procedural tax law and has a firm footing in the tax practice. Rian is an independent thinker, has a keen eye for stakeholder interests and is a strong communicator.

Marc specializes in resolving tax disputes about permanent establishments, transfer pricing, supply chain issues, business restructuring (carve-outs and integrations) and financing instruments. He has been in the lead in resolving multiple tax disputes, either by reaching compromises and bringing objections and appeals to successful completion, or by securing APAs and MAPs for clients and by navigating them through the arbitration process.

Jens works in Meijburg & Co’s international corporate income tax and transfer pricing practices. He focuses on tax and transfer pricing disputes in a national and international context, making use of available dispute resolution instruments such as APA’s, ATR’s, mutual agreement procedures (MAPs), bilateral investment treaties (BITs), joint audits and of his extensive network. Jens began his career at the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, where he held a variety of positions. He was a member of the Dutch Revenue's APA/ATR team in Rotterdam, where he specialized in international structures and related transfer pricing issues. He left the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration to join Meijburg & Co in 2005. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of taxation. Jens has a Law Degree from Tilburg University and is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors.

Disputes with tax authorities often stem from transfer pricing. Janneke has specialist expertise and extensive experience in transfer pricing. As a member of the Tax Controversy team, she is perfectly placed to not only advise clients on the procedural aspects of tax controversy and dispute resolution, but also to offer subject matter expertise and provide advisory input on clients’ transfer pricing policies. Janneke can also help to prevent disputes by assisting clients in creating robust transfer pricing documentation and securing ATRs for their transfer pricing practices.

As Head of VAT Professional Services, Werner helps national and international clients with extremely complex VAT issues. His focus is on practical and sound solutions. As a member of the Tax Controversy & Litigation team, Werner also has extensive experience with assisting in discussions with the Dutch tax authorities and in litigating. He also gives internal and external courses to keep employees and clients up to date on VAT and deepen their knowledge of VAT matters. He derives satisfaction from quickly and carefully interpreting the practical consequences of new policy and case law. Werner is a permanent annotator and commentator at NLFiscal and regularly publishes articles in professional journals. Before he became a tax specialist, Werner graduated cum laude in Latin literature. That background helps him to understand in detail the sometimes impenetrable legal texts.  

Khalid has been working at Meijburg since 2019, advising companies on VAT, excise duties, customs, international trade and ESG-related taxes. He focuses on strategic and compliance advice, dispute resolution and litigation. With more than 10 years’ tax experience he advises internationally operating companies in sectors such as logistics, the manufacturing industry, high-tech, the chemical industry, agri-food and the shipping and offshore industry. His ability to think strategically and pragmatically, coupled with his in-depth knowledge of ESG-related and cross-border taxes (such as CBAM and plastics tax), enables him to turn complex regulations into workable solutions. Khalid’s strengths are also his practical and solution-oriented approach to balancing (tax) legal theory and business interests, his eye for detail and his analytical skills. Khalid is a lecturer at Maastricht University and also frequently publishes articles in leading professional journals. He is therefore always up-to-date on latest developments and able to explain complex issues in easy-to-understand terms. He is proud of his role as EMEA Trade & Customs Knowledge Lead, where he keeps legal knowledge and teaching resources up to date within the KPMG EMEA network. This covers, for example, developing precedents and identifying and sharing relevant legal and market developments. He also contributes to internal and external training programs and helps with the development of efficient knowledge management systems within KPMG.

Danique works in the Tax Advisory department. Her main focus is on high net-worth individuals and family businesses within the Family & Business market group. Danique’s expertise extends to personal income tax, gift and inheritance tax (estate planning), corporate income tax and tax controversy.
